"Grateful Planet" with the Indigenous Reserve Bajo Río Guainía and Río Negro

Human Forest ensures the protection of over 460,000 hectares of the Bajo Río Guainía and Río Negro indigenous reserve, located in the heart of the Colombian Amazon. Our REDD+ project aims to reduce emissions caused by deforestation and degradation, while adhering to the highest technical standards and sustainably improving the lives of the 26 indigenous communities living there.

The financial proceeds are directly distributed to the 373 families in the reserve, while we simultaneously implement 15 development programs that add value in the areas of health, education, infrastructure, technology, transport, and economic development. In doing so, we always respect the needs and customs of the indigenous peoples and actively involve them in the design and implementation of the project.

We empower local families by providing them with the necessary means and resources to build a sustainable and dignified future. It is through this support that we ensure the long-term preservation of the forest. We call this commitment 'Planeta Agradecido' (Grateful Planet) because we recognize the vital role indigenous communities play in protecting the Earth. Their efforts, grounded in deep cultural traditions and knowledge, are crucial to safeguarding the unique ecosystems of our planet for future generations.
